Frequently Asked Questions
The system is set up to replicate exam conditions so once a student commences as assessment, they need to fully complete and then submit it. We'd suggest that if you want students to have a type of "open book" assessment, that you encourage them to respond to the questions initially on a word document to retain on their computer and then to transfer these to the system when they are ready.
No, once Webducate recognises them as a user by their email address, they will be able to click a link to bypass completing all the enrolment and student details again.
Students can be enrolled in more than one course so you can add the new course but you will not be able to delete their original enrolment.
In a similar way to not being able to delete an email once it's been sent, you cannot delete a token once it has been issued. If the student does not claim the token and therefore does not enrol in a course, the token will remain recorded on Webducate as inactive/unclaimed and no fees will be incurred. You should confirm the student email is correct and that payment has been made before issuing a token.
For compliance purposes, deleting a student is not allowed on Webducate. A student can remain inactive and will not affect the learning management system.
Yes, you have total control over who can access your portal and system. You can even specify exactly what type and how much access each user has.
Yes, having Gold Webducate membership allows you to keep content "sequestered" for use only by your organisations or others that you nominate. This is great for unique or confidential material but most of our members like being able to place their content in the marketplace for other members to license and pay them for. All courses developed by a member are private and of course, student, administration and records can only been accessed by individuals that the member authorises.
Yes, Webducate can import SCORM compliant content which can be made available in the marketplace for all members to license.
All Webducate members can access FAQ's, instruction sheets, short training videos and also register for regularly scheduled online training sessions. Silver and Gold members also receive individual assistance by phone and email at no extra charge.
Your unique portal with full access to Webducate is typically ready for use within 48 hours of a sign up form and payment being received. You could have a course published using content in our resource marketplace within hours.
You can convert your video file to one that is accepted by Webducate. http://www.zamzar.com is a good conversion service. It has both free as well as paid for services. For videos, the best format to convert to is FLV. A link to the converted file is emailed. The free service supports files up to 100MB, and retains converted files for 24 hours. See the FAQ on the site for more information on the service.
The video you have uploaded may be encoded with an unsupported codec. The encoding options that our video player supports are listed at the following link: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/402/kb402866.html
Course tokens are always delivered to the email address that was input into Webducate. If a student says that they didn't receive their token it is usually because:
- The email address was incorrect; or
- The ISP, computer or email system security is particularly high and the email token has been placed in the junk or spam folder.
Webducate has 3 different packages available.
