Webducate - Online Learning "Community" Marketplace

Webducate was conceived in 2005-06 as a means to bringing consistency to the complex compliance processes required by stakeholder in the Australian vocational training industry. During initial planning workshops, which were carried out with leading industry personalities, it was realised a Web 2.0 community marketplace approach was best suited to streamline the required resource development and training delivery processes.  

In addition, the inclusion of collaboration services was requested to fast track communication between Training Providers, Trainers and Students plus feedback to Authors of learning resources.  As a result the Webducate Online Learning Marketplace was developed.

Aspedia Australia, a leading Online Marketing Strategy and Web Design/Development agency, was chosen as Webducate's online marketing and internet technology partner due to their extensive experience in the development of Web 2.0 eBusiness systems. Mike Whitehouse the CEO is currently an Non Executive Director of Webducate. These skills complement the vocational training compliance and education best practice process skills of Donna Mortlock the CEO and founding partner of Webducate.

MIKE WHITEHOUSE - NON EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Mike has 25 years experience in IT having started his career as a broadcast engineer for the Channel 7 Network before entering the Computer and Communications Industry in 1988. He has won multiple state and national business awards, and founded several successful Internet companies including IntraPower in 1997-1998 (ASX: IPX) a National Broadband ISP, DomainReg in 1998-1999 who were one of the first Domain Name resellers in Australia, Aspedia Australia in 2004-2005 who are a leading Online Marketing Agency and Web Software Developer.

Having founded several successful Internet businesses Mike is well regarded as a technology futurist. In February 2011 Mike's team at Aspedia won the Optus Ultimate IT Challenge positioning them as the leading SME technology services provider across the nation. As a business improvement consultant Mike's technology expertise allows him to design, develop and launch solutions that solve identified business challenges that deliver a measurable increase in efficiencies, revenue and customer satisfaction.

DONNA MORTLOCK - CEO

Donna has a diverse background in training and education spanning a 24 year international career and holds qualifications including a Bachelor of Education, a Master of Hospitality Management and a Certificate of Hospitality Human Resources. She is also a certified national (Australia) workplace trainer and assessor having built a national reputation for delivering quality training and being committed to her absolute customer service ethics.

As CEO Donna is committed to ensuring Webducate stays true to her quality principles and continues to be recognised for the quality of the learning resources, technology framework, member training and customer service of the company.  She personally interviews all prospective Authors to ensure their training resources and business practices are aligned with those of Webducate.

 

MAX ST. JOHN - PRODUCT MARKETING MANAGER

Max is the Webducate Product Evangalist responsible for product demonstrations, collating market needs and prioritizing product and customer requirements. Working closely with software engineering, marketing and client support teams he ensures both revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.

Max's specific responsibilities include:

  • Define product strategy and roadmap as a result of industry feedback
  • Prioritizing features and corresponding justification of required functionality
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Run product demonstrations and pilot programs with early-stage products
  • Maintain awareness of competitor products and industry expertise

 

CHRISTIAN DALE - SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Christian has undertaken numerous large custom software development projects since completing a Bachelor of Software Engineering at University of Queensland in 2004. With over 7 years professional post graduate software engineering experience under his belt Christian has proven himself to be an exceptional engineer with an eye for detail when planning and managing projects.

Having been involved in the Webducate project from the initial design though to the current version 5.1 system Christian has an exceptional understanding of the Webducate system and the Drupal web development framework upon which it is built.

Christian has a fine eye for detail and enjoys the challenges that new and exciting projects give him. Currently Christian would be in the top 100 Drupal developers in South East Asia and its these skills that will ensure that Webducate continues to lead the way as the leading Online Learning Marketplace.
